In his “What’s Ahead” podcast, Steve Forbes shares his latest takes on a country increasingly shaped by the fight against COVID-19.
Bill Gates is setting an example for the federal government in the urgency and agility of his response. Forbes notes that Gates is pursuing seven different vaccines and simultaneously building factories to produce all of them at scale, just on the chance that one works.
Forbes also noted advances in testing, a crucial piece for identifying who has COVID-19, along with wider employment of contact tracing.
And on the blowback against doctors who want to prescribe hydroxychloroquine for suspected COVID-19 patients. Forbes notes that some doctors are blocked from prescribing the drug–and taking it themselves prophylactically–because current rules limit hydroxychloroquine prescriptions to individuals who have tested positive for the disease.
